The bowl holds the letters of several hidden words — all on the theme in the clue — tipped in and thoroughly muddled: rotated, flipped, upside down.
Drag letters (or tap a letter, then tap a box) into the empty grids below. Each grid is one word; only its length is given. Fill a grid and it checks itself — right words lock in gold, wrong guesses tumble back into the bowl. Repeated letters are interchangeable: any E will do.
Tap a placed letter to tip it back into the bowl. You can also drag tiles around inside the bowl — they stay where you put them, the right way up, so line up your guesses in the dish first if you like.
Daily serves one puzzle a day — the same one for everyone, everywhere — and rolls over at midnight Greenwich time. Your time is your score; copy it and challenge a friend. Free play lets you pick a theme and play as many as you like, with an optional clock.
There are two daily puzzles — Standard (five words) and Hard (six) — and two rule sets you can attempt either with. Standard rules check each word as you complete it, with up to five hints (+20s each). Hard rules tell you nothing until every tile is placed — the whole puzzle resolves at once or shakes as one — with a Check (+20s) that shows which completed rows are right. Leaderboards mark your route: S for Standard rules, H for Hard. First solve of each puzzle is your time for the day.
Your streak survives one missed day a week — an automatic freeze, shown as ❄. Yesterday's answers appear under the clue once the puzzle rolls over, and the Archive lets you practise any past daily, untimed.
Playing is name-only. An optional account is just a username and password — no email, nothing to market to — and keeps your leagues and streaks on every device.
